Could having a on-vehicle fuel injector flush affect the fuel pump/regulator?
I have a Nissan Pulsar 2001 and recently got a fuel injector flush at the mechanic. Afterwards the car started losing power and not running very well etc.. It turns out that the fuel regulator thing (?) which regulates the fuel pumping into the engine is faulty and needs to be replaced. Is it possible that the previous work could be related to this?? Seems a bit of a coincidence...
the potential for an fuel injection cleaning causing actual damage in this manner is next to none. a fuel pressure regulator is not to susceptible to damage unless you beat the heck out of it with a blunt object. how ever, you can run into the problem where the computer picks up on the rich mixture during the service and turns the light on and then tries to correct for a problem. i think that the two ideas are simply coincidental.
