Years. (My father is with the operation and will be bedridden for a long time, thus the need for the TV) are. There is not a 2nd Satellite receiver in the bedroom to make it independent from the living room receiver. I was able to stretch their VCR / DVD player to the TV and it works quite well, but not able to figure out why I can not get the picture wired from the living room, the bedroom cable jack will not work by connecting a coax from the jack to the TV, and I'm not able to pickup local HD channels by (says the sheet, it is a ATSC tuner and QAM to be able to find the HD channels) a channel scan. HELP! Or am I forced to NASCAR for the next see week while I am with them!
It's hard to give you a perfect answer without knowing how the original cable run to the bedroom was the satellite box connected. There is really only one practical way: with a coaxial cable from the auxiliary RF OUT jack on the box (like an antenna connector) through the walls to the wall plate in the bedroom. To see what was on the cable box in the bedroom, I connect any TV to the wall socket and placed it firmly on channel 3. It could also be ch. 4, but 3 is the Default. It's one or the other. The image on the television in the bedroom with this arrangement, analog, even if you have an HD cable box and HD satellite. The signal at the RF OUT jack aux on the box is analog ch. 3 (or 4). And as you noticed, you can not change channels in the bedroom with this arrangement. Try your new HDTV in the bedroom on channel 3 or 4 If an image in this way, it's connected, as I have described.
