How can I tell if my bike wheel hub support disc brakes?
a friend of mine has an extra disc brakes for which he s going to take me. I know my bike frame that supports disc brakes, but I do not know if the hub does.
If your hubs six threaded bolt holes on the left have (see first link), then yes, they will take what is known as the "standard six bolt" discs. Alternatively, if they (the hubs) have a splined section (See second link) on the left side, then they will take Shimano center lock "discs. When the discs or your friend is offering good quality, but the rotors (discs) are the wrong installation of your hub (if your hubs are either 6 bolt or Center Lock), then it would be well worth buying new adapters or rotors. (Ask in a good bike shop)
