Can a carburetor with an electric fuel pump?
I have fuel injection on my car and was considering converting a carb in. what changes should I do? Do I need to install the mechanical fuel pump? it's a Chevy.
You could use a new electric fuel pump for carbohydrates instead of the mechanical pump, but I would think a cheaper, less intensive way would be to use your current fuel pump with a pressure regulator on the line. Their current heads should work, but you have to a suction tube that is pin associated with them. In the Gen I engines that should be pretty easy to do, all the screws are the same. The heads of the same castings used in carbarated versions. If it's a Vortec but the bolt pattern on a typical host does not match the bolt pattern on their heads. You do with the Vortec intake bolt pattern, but it will probably not be something lying around the garage. I know, GM Performance sells it, and probably Edelbrock and Holley.
