What is the size of the caliper bolts or pins, the brakes of a 1987 Cadillac Sedan DeVille fwd to?
I tried a 7mm 3 / 8 and, has anyone any ideas?
Most every GM I've ever worked with had either a 3 / 8 or 10 mm hex bolts holding the caliper pin. I have a seen some cars with Torx fittings: I can not remember if they were GM or not. Torx fasteners are 6 pointed "star". Almost every spare parts store sold Allen and Torx sockets. If it's not "star-shaped," I'm 99% sure it will be around 10 mm. Make sure it is not a Torx, but: a regular wrench will fit and have little to destroy but the pen. I have a 10mm, 8mm, 7mm, and 3 / 8 "with my brake tools and Allen have also a number of Torx, which I did not do on the brake, to use often. They have next to each brake caliper I've ever seen taken.
